Braces and Invisalign

We think straight teeth are lovely, and we bet you do too. This is why we offer orthodontics in our Monterey and Wolli Creek Dental surgeries.

The purpose of our orthodontics is to help you have straighter teeth and to learn what your goals are for your smile.

Orthodontics through braces and Invisalign are intended for the following:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Protrusion
  • Crossbite
  • Overcrowding
  • Overlapping
  • Unsightly gaps
  • Uneven spacing

We provide traditional and invisible braces. Traditional braces are made with metal and wires, and Invisalign are clear, plastic aligners that are changed out regularly to help make teeth straighter over time. Unlike traditional braces, you can remove Invisalign aligners when eating, drinking, brushing or flossing.

For children, we sometimes recommend interceptive orthodontics. This means we may recommend space maintainers and palatal expanders in our dental surgery to help a child’s teeth look straighter in later years and to help prevent overcrowding.

Cosmetic Dentistry

We want to help you with your smile goals. This is why we offer several cosmetic dentistry options in Monterey and Wolli Creek.

A smile makeover may include:

  • Veneers
  • Teeth whitening
  • Invisalign
  • Dental implants
  • Dermal injections

We do a comprehensive assessment to see which procedures might help you the most, and we offer options; ultimately the choice is yours. We help you decide what you’d like to do to adjust your smile.

You might choose several combinations.

For example, veneers to hide tooth flaws like small chips or discolourations along with teeth whitening to brighten your smile.

  • Veneers go over the fronts of your teeth to hide cosmetic issues and to help give a uniform appearance to your smile.
  • Invisalign is orthodontics that relies on clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth gradually.

You might opt for dermal injections for the area around your smile—your lips and cheeks. Maybe you’ll decide to pair this with dental implants and teeth whitening.

Whatever you decide, we are here to help you achieve your goals with a complete smile makeover.

Crowns and Bridges

Sometimes, when a cavity is too large or too deep, your tooth becomes weak and damaged. A filling in these cases will not keep the tooth viable or strong for chewing. A dental crown is much sturdier compared with a dental filling, and its purpose is to keep your tooth functional and comfortable.

Also, a failed root canal or trauma may leave your tooth vulnerable to breakage. A dental crown can help strengthen it and keep it in use.

A dental crown is customised to fit your tooth. We also take measures to help it match your other teeth. The intention is to make the crown appear part of your natural smile.

A dental crown may also help conceal:

  • Discolouration
  • Small chips
  • Tiny flaws
  • Minor gaps between teeth
  • Small bite misalignments

We want to help you save your tooth when it is damaged or weakened. This is why we may recommend a dental crown instead of a traditional filling in our Monterey or Wolli Creek dental clinics.

Dental Implants

Our dentist will evaluate you to make sure dental implants are a good option for your oral health needs.

Dental implants are used to fill in the gaps when teeth are missing. A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically implanted in your jaw at our Monterey or Wolli Creek dental surgery.

We help keep you comfortable while we perform your implant placement.

After your implant post bonds with your jawbone over several months, we place an abutment and a restoration tooth. This completes your dental implant, and you are free to smile and show off your tooth, which is meant to blend in well with your surrounding teeth.

If you have multiple missing teeth, we can use a few spaced dental implants to support an arch of tooth restorations.

Dental implants take the place of missing teeth and may help with your chewing.

After your dental implant restoration tooth is placed, a member of our dental team will instruct you how to take care of your new restoration tooth.

Facial Aesthetics

Many people want to have younger-looking skin. This means taking measures to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines. Sometimes, it means filling in areas with dermal fillers, too.

In our Monterey and Wolli Creek clinics, we offer anti-wrinkle injections that are intended to help smooth or reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

This method relies on small needles to inject dermal fillers beneath the skin. We will take every measure to help you feel relaxed and comfortable during your anti-wrinkle injection or dermal filler therapies.

Some of the areas you may want to target include:

  • Forehead
  • Lines around the eyes
  • Smile lines
  • Specific wrinkles

We will go over your specific skin care goals before we get started helping with your wrinkles and fine lines. We will also answer your questions and make recommendations based on your specific goals.

It is our goal to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help you realise your goal for younger-looking skin.

Many of us want firmer-looking skin, but as we get older, the skin may begin to loosen. This may make us look older.

Thread lifting is a procedure that uses temporary sutures to achieve a skin lift. This is an alternative to removing loose skin or having invasive surgery.

Stitching up the skin is intended to provide you with a facelift of sorts without a lot of cutting or prolonged surgery. This procedure is also meant to stimulate a healing response, which may prompt the body to direct collagen to the stitched areas.

Lack of collagen has been shown to play a role in skin ageing. By helping to direct collagen to the skin surface with thread lifting, we hope to make your skin appear younger and firmer.

Thread lifting is also intended to give you a faster recovery time compared with a facelift.
